Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting for an Operations Co-ordinator to join our growing team and work from our Telford premises.

Kyrus designs and manufactures vital system components to automation and Robotic system builders across the world.

From Robot 7th axis tracks, grippers, manipulators, turntables, and guarding solutions, we provide a range of exciting high-quality automation products that are designed and manufactured in the UK and then shipped around the globe.

This fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations Co-ordinator to join our team is due to continued company expansion.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling and procurement of components and materials, controlling stock levels and liaising between the design and production departments to ensure a smooth production process for our wide range of low volume and small batch engineering products.

You will also have an important role with regards to general logistics and organisation of the wider company operations.

You will be self-motivated and able to work independently, showing initiative and discipline in your work.

You will have a keen eye for detail and be extremely well organised and logical in your approach to your work and organisation.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating the production output of the business, so it is essential that you have strong and confident communication skills as you will be working with both internal and external stakeholders.


Your duties and responsibilities will be wide ranging:

  • Working with the Managing Director to schedule production and delivery of standard and bespoke engineering products to our customers.
  • Procuring parts and materials from 3rd party suppliers in the UK and worldwide.
  • Liaising between the Design department and Workshop team, to ensure that correct components and materials are available at the correct time.
  • Negotiating good pricing and payment terms with suppliers in order to keep our UK manufactured products competitive.
  • Operating our inhouse MRP software to ensure that works orders, stock records and future stock requirements are accurate and uptodate.
  • Assisting with the integration of stock and WIP valuations to the monthly management accounts.
  • Working closely with the management and design team to streamline the build process and help with constant quality and efficiency improvement of our products and processes.
  • Monitoring productions costs and reporting back to the MD and design teams when issues occur.
  • Assisting and scheduling / organising deliveries to customers using various modes of transport.
  • Tasks will vary from day to day and as a senior member of staff, you may be required to have an input with other areas of the business as requested by the Directors.


The above is not an exhaustive list and shall include any other duties that are commensurate with the ability of the post holder.


Skills & Experience requirements:

  • Understanding of engineering processes for the purposes of component procurement (Machining, Laser Cutting & other sheet metal processes, powdercoating & painting etc)
  • Experience of working in an fast paced Engineering SME desirable.
  • Working with 3rd party suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and monitor delivery dates.
  • Understanding of Bills of Materials and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with Sage accounting software essential.
  • Experience with MRP processes and software desirable.
  • Full UK driving license essential.
This is a full-time, permanent position

Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 (15:00 finish on Fridays)

Starting Salary £32,500 dependant on experience
