Account Manager


We have an opportunity for an experienced Account Manager to work for our well-established and professional client based in Hoddesdon.

The role is a full-time permanent position working from 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday with a 30-minute unpaid break andoffers a salary of £25,000 - £27,000, depending on experience, plus 30 days holiday per annum (including bank holidays) and other benefits.


The purpose of this position is to generate sales from a portfolio of accounts in accordance with agreed targets and to maximise company profitability.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintain regular contact with customers to keep them aware of business developments and to seek feedback from them so that the company can effectively implement a programme of continuous development.
  • Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities, key decision makers and other stakeholders generally, to exchange information and views, and to ensure thatthe company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services.
  • Develop and maintain effective communications with new and existing customers to negotiate contracts that contribute to corporate objectives.
  • Generate sales for a portfolio of accounts to achieve annual sales targets.
  • Research new sales opportunities within the existing portfolio of accounts and identify new potential customers within the allocated sales area.
  • Identify potential sales leads and further business development opportunities within inbound enquiries and existing customers, for promotion of internal sales.
  • To undertake any reasonable additional tasks or duties, as asked of you, from time to time.
  • Ensure that you understand and are familiar with your responsibilities and duties as contained in the Company's Health & Safety Procedures.

  • Sales/Account Management experience
  • IT Literate including the use of Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Sales order processing experience
  • Excellent team player

  • Strong communication skills
