Hales Group a seeking a Rent Officer to manage and monitor the rent accounts of residents in a given patch.
Work closely with the other members of the team as well as other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach is maintained in dealing with the managementof rent arrears.
Our client are based in Lowestoft, but this is a remote working role so we welcome interest from other locations in the UK.
Rent Officer Duties will include but not limited to:
- Pursue recovery of all debts in relation to current tenants in the given patch of properties
- Work with colleagues to develop crossdepartmental solutions to effectively manage rent arrears and minimise financial loss.
- Contact, correspond, and negotiate with tenants in arrears and their representatives both facetoface, by telephone and in writing to ensure swift action is taken by tenants to reduce and clear their arrears.
- Manage account queries, interpret customer information, in order to deal with enquiries and cases making appropriate adjustments when required.
- Liaise with the Court bailiffs and our clients own tradesmen to arrange evictions from properties.
- Ensure full and complete digital documentation is kept on all aspects of rent account management on the Housing Management system ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations.
- Take a proactive approach to ensuring swift contact as soon as arrears start to accumulate to ensure they are addressed early by tenants and not allowed to build up unnoticed.
- Report any repairs, maintenance, health & safety hazards, customer enquiries, breaches of tenancy, safeguarding or vulnerability that are identified through contact with tenants.
- Ensure that the policies, procedures, and requirements of the our client are met in an effective and efficient manner which provides optimum value for money.
- Previous experience of working in a housing environment, and liaising with various partners and agencies.
- Knowledge and good understanding of Housing Law, Housing Benefit Regulations and Welfare Rights.
- Dealing with the public in difficult situations.
- Display a confident, professional and friendly approach at all times
- Ability to recognise potential wider social concerns that may be apparent when carrying out duties such as safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, domestic violence etc.
- Self motivate, adaptable, diplomatic and enthusiastic.
- The post will involve access to vulnerable adults and children on occasions.
HOURS:
Full Time 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (part time will be considered)
DURATION:
Temporary for 12 months
