Purpose


The End User Device Management Team Leader role will be part of the End User Computing & Applications team which is part of the Technology group.

The role will directly influence the effectiveness of the firm's lawyers and business services staff by providing a highly available set of services.

They will work within a professional and friendly environment and lead a small global team.


Manage a team of highly skilled 3rd line engineers Line Management responsibilities includes the day-to-day team leadership, the mentoring of team members and supporting their contribution through effective service delivery.


A proven understanding of Laptops, Desktops, iPhones and Printers is required to manage the team technically, in conjunction with the correct management style to help your colleagues perform their best.

To take ownership of the products and services you support, drive improvements, proactivity and enhancements to those services.


The role involves working closely with Service Delivery Teams, the Project & Programme Portfolio, Architects, Regional IT Support Managers, and Business Services teams to ensure effective delivery based on business and strategic requirements.


Simply put, this role's success will be paramount to delivering the service our lawyers and clients need and expect from a global law firm.


What we are looking for

  • A selfmotivated team leader who will own their technological remit and motivate and develop their team
  • Can technically contribute to End User Device systems such as Windows 10, Laptops, Desktops, Virtual Desktops, iPhone's, SCCM, Intune, Printers, VPN technologies and OneDrive
  • Effective communicator, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in adapting their working style to the audience, or delivery expectations.
  • An effective and pragmatic approach to incidents and problems driving resolution
  • A willingness to engage across boundaries.
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal
  • Someone who will drive the ambition of yearonyear improvements to end user device estate
  • Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies, methodologies and processes.

Expectations of the role

  • Communicate appropriately at all levels from direct reports right up to leadership teams and departmental heads
  • Fluent in multiple technologies within the end user device remit
  • Act as a principal for large strategic projects and able to transition new services
  • Act as an escalation point for the team on a 24/7 basis
  • Able to manage the relationships with multiple 3rd parties such as service providers
  • Create the mechanisms for knowledge and experience to be shared amongst all team members in multiple geographies
  • Conducting regular Technology wide awareness presentations of the key messages and desired outcomes focussed around end user device elements
  • Able to engage with business teams in nontechnical discussions relating to proposed technical solutions.

Experience

  • Service
  • Can technically contribute to End User Device systems such as Windows 10, iOS, SCCM, Intune, Printers, OneDrive, VPN technologies and Virtual Desktop systems
  • Work with Architects and Project Managers to deliver a technological roadmap of services within the End User Device remit including understanding processes and methodologies
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills during the phases of installation, operation/run and decommissioning of End User Technologies
  • Operate a 24x7 follow the sun model
  • Risk
  • Ensuring all known IT risks are captured and maintained in the IT Risk Register
  • ITIL
  • Contribute to all ITIL processes for relevant technology including Incident, Problem, CSI, Configuration, Event, and act as a Major Incident escalation point
  • People
  • Mentor, coach and train team to develop to their full potential
  • Work with the team to fulfil the remit of the firm's strategic EUC aspirations
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including lines of communication and shared goals
  • Budget
  • Direct Cost Centre responsibility
  • Building business cases to justify the spend of new purchases including capital initiatives
