Quality Inspector - America's Cup (Early/Late Shift - 6 month FTC)

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team have joined forces with INEOS Britannia, as the Challenger of Record for the 37thAmerica's Cup competition.

This project brings together two highly complementary spheres of high-performance, high-technology engineering and sporting challenge.


The role:

As an Inspector on the America's Cup Team your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for inspection of metallic and composite race yacht components.
  • Use of inspection equipment to ensure dimensional, mechanical and visual characteristics of each component adhere to drawing specification.
  • Strict adherence to drawings, operating procedures, and work instructions to ensure zero defect supply.
  • Competent in using portable CMM (e.g. Faro/Romer Arms) and preferable Polyworks software, both online and offline.
  • Clear component labelling to identify status.
  • Timely and accurate booking and recording on our Manufacturing Systems.
  • Identification of any nonconforming components and writing of nonconformance reports (NCR). This includes liaison with authorising Design personnel to determine disposition of components and necessary action to be taken, concluding in a timely manner.
  • Communication to be clear, concise, and effective (verbal &/or written as appropriate) for example with NCR followup and handover of job at shift end / status of component inspection.
  • Flexibility in terms of job and time to undertake any necessary tasks that may reasonably be expected to achieve Team objectives.
  • To comply with the companies Health & Safety polices at all times.
