Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician at Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH). The post offers an opportunity to lead further developments of the existing multiagency pathways for the management of ASD.

There will be some flexibility within the existing service to accommodate a different role/responsibility including Safeguarding roles, should this be necessary.

The post is full time, but we would also consider part-time or job-share applicants.


We are looking to appoint a colleague who will be part of an enthusiastic and friendly team, developing and enhancing our integrated service for the benefit of children and families in Wirral's geographically well-defined district.

All Community Paediatricians contribute to the daytime Child Protection Rota (1 in 6 weekly rotation).

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is situated on The Wirral peninsula which has a stunning coastline and beautiful countryside surroundings, with great activities for its residents.

If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have a standard/enhanced DBS.

This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 month.


As this vacancy is within the division of Women's and Children's, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service.

The cost of joining the update service is £13 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust.
