Job Function

Payroll processing, the task of managing the payment of wages by PPO to its employees.

The steps involved in payroll processing include gathering employee time information for a selected time period, managing benefits & deductions, and distributing employee pay for that time period.

Main Duties

  • Run the weekly payroll for all plant and operational staff using weekly timesheets to be collated every Monday.
  • Manual payroll calculations
  • Processing of new starters from induction forms and process any leavers along with issuing P45's
  • Calculating leavers information from training records and any holiday pay accrued
  • Maintain and update any court orders, CSA and any other attachments of earnings, providing accounts with the information to make payments.
  • Knowledge of tax code legislation, NI legislation and Pension legislation
  • Running P11D reports for benefits in kind
  • Running RTI and EPS submissions to the HMRC
  • Yearend submissions and issuing of P60's
  • Up keep of the pension with new starters, leavers and submissions to the pension providers.
  • Dealing with any payroll queries and resolving them to a high standard.
  • Understanding of the apprenticeship levy
  • Assisting accounts in month end payroll information
  • Assist the Commercial Team with rates and timesheet history
  • Filing
  • Any other adhoc duties

Key skills/Experience

  • Knowledge of coins payroll would be desirable
  • Knowledge of manual calculations
  • Key attention to detail
  • Be selfmotivated and deadline driven
  • Be proactive and use initiative
  • Good telephone skills and polite manor
  • Be able to communicate effectively to all areas of the business
  • Ability to be quick thinking and handle difficult situations
  • Maintain strict confidence and data protection laws.
Working hours 8.30am to 17.00pm but will be flexible
