Workshop Controller key responsibilities:

  • Supporting and training the Technicians to improve the skill sets of the team
  • During busy periods, undertaking the maintenance, service and repair activities on motor vehicles to the highest standard
  • To ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated in an effective manner to other members of the department
  • Plan the distribution of work amongst the team utilising available skills mix
  • Ensure understanding and adherence to the requirements of brand service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators
  • Allocate jobs to the workshop productive as appropriate to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Liaise with internal and external customers as required for the collection and delivery of vehicles
  • Ensure that these parts are linked to the correct job number and placed in the correct allocated rack accordingly
The Ideal Workshop Controller

You will currently be working either as a Mechanic or a Service Technician in a garage / dealership environment and be ready to take the step up in to an exciting new hands on role.

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work to short deadlines andjuggle competing priorities.

The role demands a flexible attitude and excellent customer service skills as you will be responsible for liaising with both internal and external customers.

You will need to have a proven track record in running a successful fast paced workshop, have good management skills and be able to provide leadership for the Vehicle Technicians.
