Job description:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at

Defence Munitions:

Plymouth as an Administrative Officer supporting the health and safety team and activities across the site, this is a fast paced and varied role, allowing you exposure to various areas across the health and safety specialism, working as a key part of the Head of Establishments team.


By undertaking a variety of tasks and activities, you will have the opportunity to partake in role specific training and development both personally and professionally.


Please note this role will be based on site and all applicants must be prepared to travel for organisational requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and generating Health & Safety Management System documentation in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • Management of routine compliance activity returns, including document production, processing, and maintenance.
  • Act as a key focal point for internal and external stakeholders, providing advice and guidance, escalating where appropriate.
  • Secretarial activity during quarterly safety meetings, for example: Minute taking and meeting coordination.
  • Assist with inspections, safety campaigns and support Health & Safety advisor as required.

Person specification:


  • A good level of IT (Office, Word, Outlook), literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with experience analysing and interpreting information.
  • The ability to provide a high level of service to stakeholders.
It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:

  • Possess a basic understanding of the Health and Safety process including risk assessments.
