THE ROLE
We have an exciting role for an Asset Engineering Manager E&I who will be responsible to support the Head of Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I), in ensuring that key E&I Asset systems are managed appropriately, processes operate effectively, efficientlyand safely.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Manage our E&I Asset portfolio in line with ISO 55001 principles across 270 sites in the Scotland, covering a range of assets from Electrical, Instrumentation, Telemetry, Metering, Gas Quality, Software, Fire & Gas and Security systems in potentially hazardousatmospheres.
- Ensuring that all E&I GD2 projects are carried out to programme to enable delivery of key OFGEM outputs and within budget.
- Ensure suitable compliance levels are applied for new and existing E & I equipment
- Ensuring our E&I maintenance programme and projects are carried out safely and in accordance with SGN policy and procedures.
- Ensure offtake high pressure metering and gas quality systems comply with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Ensure systems and plans are in place to deliver E&I GD2 business plan
- Ensure our biomethane E&I systems are managed, maintained and commissioned to meet regulatory and legal compliance.
- Ensure appropriate audits and inspections are undertaken
- When appropriate undertake fault analysis and investigations to determine root cause.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- A degree or HND minimum in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or similar disciplines.
- A flexible attitude to work, and willingness to take on new skills in order to further your career in the gas industry.
- Communicative and Interpersonal skills, including the ability to converse with external organisations such as HSE, OFGEM, IGEM, consultants, contractors and members of the public.
- Knowledge and experience of E&I processes in the gas industry is essential as well as, Telemetry, Fire & Gas detection, high pressure flow metering and Gas Quality systems.
- A full and valid UK driving licence is essential.
