Senior Support Officer Job Purpose:

To work as part of a team to ensure that the residents and day visitors have a full, varied and appropriate programme of activities.

Ensure all residents' needs are met and that an inclusive, welcoming and pleasant environment is created at the extra careschemes.

Ensure all administrative duties are carried out to enable efficient running of the schemes.

Main Tasks:
1. Ensure tenants and day care clients receive appropriate emotional and physical care and support.
In exceptional cases, these duties will include personal care in emergencies. 2. Carry out any administrative duties as required to support the scheme and tenants. 3.

On a daily basis work with the Care Agency and the health professionals who attend the schemeto assist the tenants.

4.

Plan and promote a varied and comprehensive programme of activities to suit the needs of all day care clients and tenants.

5.

Be responsible for new activity ideas, events, fund raising, planning of trips/social outings for residentsensuring all risk assessments are completed.

6. Produce advertising material for the schemes events including posters and leaflets. 7. Assist with content and creating a weekly newsletter for the tenants. 8. Assist with the upkeep of the schemes social mediaaccounts notably our Facebook page, posting regular and relevant updates. 9.

Liaise with Community Meals staff in respect of the provision of meals for the residents and Day Care clients and help serve lunches.

10.Be responsible for ordering and making purchasesas required and completion of invoicing process. 11.Be responsible for daily/weekly inspections of the scheme and deal with any issues found. 12.Assist with all fire and safety tests and emergencies. 13.To recruit, manage and motivate the volunteers to enhancethe services offered at the scheme. 14.To work with volunteers to raise funds and organise special events for the enjoyment of all scheme users. 15.Attend training courses as required to further self-development.

16.Assist with ensuring tenant Support Plansare up to date and reviewed on a quarterly basis 17.Assist with the new tenant process and void when required.

18.Assist with the raiser chair falls recovery system to help tenants and visitors in need. 19.Assist with the running of the coffee shop includingordering supplies, charging and receiving payments, cleaning the area etc. 20.Carry out health and safety checks and report and monitor any repairs required. 21.Carry out occasional cleaning for example the guest flat and toilets in an emergency and collectingrubbish for residents unable.

22.To carry out any other duties appropriate to the grade which may be required, from time to time, by the Independent Living & Extra Care Manager.


Special Duties:
1. Assist with occasional weekend and evening activities arrangedfor the tenants. 2. Assist in an emergency or when tenants need relocating for safety to reset areas
