Starting Point Recruitment are recruiting for a residential care worker for an immediate start role in Walsall (WS1).

Salary:
£10.81ph

Personal Intervention:

1.1 Enabling service users in/out of bed where they require help or assistance following
the therapy care plan.
1.2 Enabling service users dress/undress where they require help or assistance
1.3 Enabling with feeding service users where they require help or assistance
1.4 Attending to the personal cleanliness of service users which may include help with
toileting and emptying commodes if required
1.5 Motivating, enabling and supporting service users to maintain individual plans agreed
between the client, and the Intermediate Care Team, for example: reablement staff
and with other Social Care & Inclusion staff and Community Health staff including
Therapists and Nurses
1.6 To enable and empower service users to develop, maintain and enhance their selfhelp skills within the Reablement/Intermediate Care model
1.7 To assist/support/prompt/administer service users with assessed health care and
medication needs


Social Tasks:

2.1 To communicate effectively and professionally by consulting with service users in order
to assess for needs and levels of health/well-being
2.2 Motivating and supporting service users to maintain contact with family and friends
2.3 Encourage service users to make full use of statutory and voluntary services in the
community, including recreational, advocacy, social opportunities, and supporting
where appropriate cultural and religious links
2.4 To assist in creating and developing portfolios of leisure, social, recreational
opportunities for service users utilising a person centred/personalised approach
2.5 Demonstrate an ability to understand the importance of enabling and maximising
service user participation in order to maintain/increase independence and reach their
optimal abilities


Household Tasks:


3.1 Motivating and supporting service users, in line with their support plans, with meals preparation within the agreed outcome focused goals assessed.

3.2 Motivating and supporting service users, in line with their support plans, with bed making.
3.3 Supporting and motivating service users to carry out tasks to maintain the warmth and cleanliness of their home.
3.4 To maintain, as far as possible, a safe and healthy environment


Essential criteria:


  • Enhanced DBS Check
  • Availability 9am 5pm Monday to Friday
  • Previous Care experience
