Description

This is a brilliant opportunity for an analytical and commercially focused Finance Business Partner, to join a high profile and prestigious Leeds City Centre based professional services firm.

The business have exceptionally well presented Head Offices based in Leeds City Centre, but operate UK wide, as well as internationally.

This role will join the newly created commercial finance team in a standalone role working alongside the two other Finance Business Partners, and reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Finance.


The role will be responsible for budgeting, market analysis, analysis of existing resource and staff retention, and presenting business cases for new hires/resource

Recently created, the commercial team in this business is now fast growing, and this hire will form an integral part of this growth The team have already been instrumental in modernising the approach of the business and creating more opportunities and communicatingkey messages to influence business decisions and improve processes.

The business are looking for someone who they can develop and progress in this role, someone who will take ownership and add value through recommending and improving existing and new processes.


The key duties of the role will include:

  • Working with the rest of the Commercial Finance team and Managers across the business to produce an annual budget for revenue, staff costs and productivity levels.
  • Provide analysis to constructively challenge budgeting decisions around spend and revenue generation and produce a summary of key financial measures
  • Proactively track staff changes, both arrivals and departures. Understand the impact these will have on departmental resource and their ability to meet budgets before communicating findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Work proactively with the rest of the Commercial Finance team and senior leaders to identify challenges in existing team structures.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis to support the assessment of business cases to bring new starters into the business.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis to assess performance and supporting business cases for future progression.
  • Work with the business to explore remuneration offered to staff and how this compares to competitors
  • Work closely with the HR Manager to develop effective training in relation to financial and commercial awareness.
  • Proactively research and provide the business with insights into the actions of competitors/the wider industry
  • Have previous experience in a Finance Analyst or Finance Business Partner role
