Description
Arabesque specialises in making sustainability, corporate responsibility, and ESG mainstream.

Arabesque was founded in 2013 as a management buy-out from Barclays Bank Plc, and its story is one of partnership between leaders in finance, mathematics, and sustainability, working together to develop the next generation of sustainable asset management and data.

Arabesque's businesses are:

  • Asset Management: a sustainable and quantitative investment management business using selflearning quantitative models.
  • ESG Book: dedicated and wide range of cloudbased sustainability products and solutions used by many of the world's leading financial organisations which collectively manage over $120 trillion.
  • Artificial Intelligence: a dedicated AI research business developing AI and big data capabilities for financial services.
  • S-World: Investing together for better.
We are constantly researching new frontiers and business opportunities in sustainability, finance, AI, and machine-learning.

We have offices in London, Frankfurt, Boston, Tokyo, India and Singapore.

We are looking for an experienced and talented Product Designer to join us as the first designer in a small, fast-paced team working on a new retail consumer app.

This is an exciting opportunity to define the artistic direction of the app from scratch, and we're looking for someone who has demonstrable experience in researching and ideating compelling designs from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with our CEO, Chief Product Officer, Director of Strategy, and Senior Engineers throughout the entire product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery, rather than just taking requirements or specifications to produce your designs.
  • Be a full partner in product discovery and solutions alongside the Product Owner
  • Develop strategic design frameworks and execute design solutions that are visually stunning, userfriendly, and meet business goals
  • Create and refine wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and visual designs to ensure we deliver a great user experience
  • Be the custodian of customer experience, ensuring that all design decisions put the user first
  • Work collaboratively with the team and stakeholders to define and refine the visual design language, guidelines, and style guides
  • Communicate your ideas early and often, and collaborate with the team to create the best solutions
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in design, technology, and usability
  • Take ownership of the design process, contribute to the overall design culture, and mentor junior designers if required

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Product Design and a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and process with an emphasis on DirecttoConsumer products
  • Expertise in Interaction Design and Visual Design includes the underlying conceptual models, task flows, and control layouts to manipulate those concepts including composition, typography, and how the visual brand is expressed
  • Experience working with both mobile and webbased platforms, with a good understanding of unique challenges and specifics of each, and decent knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Strong creative and analytical skills with the ability to quickly produce multiple proposals and iterate on feedback
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions to stakeholders and nondesigners
  • Strong problemsolving skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically
  • Experience in designing for accessibility and a good understanding of usability principles

Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary
  • Equity in the form of stock options
  • 30 days annual leave
  • Private Medical Scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • 8% pension contribution (3% Employer & 5% Employee)
