R. Plevin & Sons is a UK market leader in wood recycling and a manufacturer of animal bedding.

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our busy maintenance team at Crow Edge, Whams Road, Nr Penistone S36 4HG.

Reporting to the site management, this role will provide supervisory support to the maintenance engineers, ensuring the team carry out effective preventative maintenance, general maintenance, repairs and attend to plant breakdowns.

Ideally multi-skilled, this is a 'hands on' role (approximately 70% on the tools, 30% administration/office).

Main duties/responsibilities

Ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements related to maintenance and repair of production equipment, plant and material handling facilities.
Ensuring health and safety checks, risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place and followed by the maintenance team.
Supervising the maintenance team, performance managing, coaching staff and ensuring staffing levels are adequate.
Organising maintenance job tasks, ordering parts, prioritising workloads and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers as required.
Supporting site wide electrical and mechanical maintenance, installation work, problem solving and continuous improvements to both increase and maintain production efficiencies.
Ensuring routine maintenance inspections and planned repairs to production plant and equipment and to mobile plant are carried out, completing all associated remedial work and maintaining the necessary records.
Planning of future maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance for all production equipment and facilities to ensure that standards and process capabilities are maintained to the required criterion in compliance with legal and statutory requirement.
Carrying out remedial repair work and planned preventative maintenance schedules in line with statutory and legal requirements.

Previous experience of working with medium to heavy industrial plant is essential, as is a good working knowledge of fault finding on plant equipment.

Supervisory / team management experience is required along with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Hours of Work
Monday - Friday - 08:00 -17:00 hours (with half hour lunch hours per week
