Yard Supervisor

Avonmouth, Bristol

Full time, permanent.

Monday to Friday

  • Flexible Hours (preferably Monday to Thursday 10:30 18:00 and Friday 09:00 17:00.

Salary:
£34,738

Randstad Engineering are looking for a yard supervisor for a prestigious client of ours based in Avonmouth, Bristol. The business operate nationally and is recognised for their contribution to environmental initiatives. They process non recyclable plastics, with the material being reused within manufacturing, including the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout the process, they are able to generate energy which can power up to 80,000 homes per year.


The main objective of this role is to work hands on, supervising and ensuring the efficient running of the yard/warehouse operations.


Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity, within a yard/warehouse.
  • A willingness to work indoor and outdoor.
  • A strong leader
- willing to make changes and implement new processes.

  • Willingness to work hands on, forklift based tasks.

Some of your tasks will include:

  • Provide visible, hands on leadership to control the safe and efficient import and export of material, to and from site.
  • Supervising the team of Yard Operatives in their daily duties, you'll ensure that all employees are aware of, and comply with Health and Safety guidelines and that safe systems of work are in place and being adhered to.
  • You'll ensure the yard operates safely and effectively, enforcing the traffic management plan and be accountable for the vehicle movement and provide hands on support if required.
  • Working closely with the Quality Team, you will inspect and report on safety and quality concerns with incoming material and identify any quality concerns with bales or finished goods / byproducts.
