Reckitt's Global Head of Sustainable Brands, Hygiene is responsible for leading our work on building sustainability into our brand strategies.

Collaborating with senior leaders in our Hygiene Marketing teams, you'll identify and respond to future trends, mitigate risks, and develop opportunities around the materials and ingredients we use, helping to bring our brands' purposes to life through our sustainability ambitions.


The role is focused on three core deliverables:


  • Embed sustainability into brand strategies: understand evolving external context, identify business risks & opportunities, develop clear action plans to strengthen overall business and engage stakeholders.

Enhance business operations: identify ways to improve sustainability integration into operating model, develop frameworks to guide teams, clarify roles & responsibility across X-functional teams.

Build sustainability culture & competency:lead engagement, development of guidelines, playbooks & training, to upskill marketeers on Reckitt's policy, ambitions, approach.

You'll lead our Hygiene brand sustainability agenda enabling our brands to deliver against their individual purposes and our collective pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world.


With a key focus on:

Brand Strategy

  • With Hygiene Global Power brands & category leads, you will lead the integration of and lead sustainability into 3Yr Plan Strategies & Innovation Plans:
  • Lead horizon scanning and ongoing evaluation of risks & opportunities for Hygiene brands
  • considering the evolving demands from consumers, customers, regulators, investor stakeholders, & monitoring competitor & emerging new areas of stakeholder activism.
  • Identify and prioritise key sustainability issues & opportunities, which deliver sustainability targets & present differentiation vs competition.
  • Support category teams in shaping strategic direction for sustainability, aligned to brand purpose & stakeholder demands and develop quantified timebound roadmaps and action plans to deliver targets in partnership with brand teams & R&D.
  • For key common issues across Hygiene brands, contribute to developing crossbrand strategies and execution plans to effectively address.
  • With crossfunctional partners lead internal & external engagement on sustainability to generate opportunity & equity:
  • Marketing & Sales teams for consumer & retailer engagement
  • Corporate Affairs for internal engagement & external engagement with investors
  • Liaise with GMs & MDs in key markets to develop IMEX & Local Hero strategies.
  • Ensure deployment of key sustainability initiatives, gather local insights to feed into 3yr plan.
  • Support local teams in developing strategies for local hero brands.

Business Operations

  • Proactively developed opportunities & solutions to continually improve how sustainability is embedded, tracked & prioritised, within Hygiene business processes.
  • Ensure appropriate resource is placed on priorities partnering with Marketing, Sales, R&D, Project & Portfolio Management, and others, to resource priorities & flag gaps/opportunities.
  • Liaise with technical product sustainability team members to deliver progress tracking across all relevant KPIs (e.g., pipeline snapshots).
  • Contribute to ongoing development & evolution of frameworks to identify and prioritise relevant sustainability issues aligned with evolving brand purposes.

Culture & Capability building

  • Upskill marketing function on sustainability via leading awareness & deployment of growing suite of sustainability assets, policies, playbooks & tools.
  • Build culture of sustainability through marketing team engagement develop regular communications to share insights, case studies, learning sessions.
  • Build a community of sustainability supporting the network of Marketing Sustainability Champions & cross functional connections across Customer, R&D, Pack, Supply, Marketing Excellence teams & beyond.
  • In support of continuous capability growth, contribute to development of new guidelines, tools & frameworks as the sustainability agenda continues to evolve.
This position reports into the Sustainable Products and Brands Director.

Although your role will be focused on Hygiene, you will collaborate closely with counterparts for Health & Nutrition to share learnings, best practice & develop common solutions in support of our corporate sustainability ambitions.
