Our team of highly-qualified flood risk consultants deliver the best service in the business, and we pride ourselves on being BBC's and Sky News' favoured flood risk consultants.
We are seeking a motivated assistant Surveyor to join our team, specialising in flood risk assessments, sustainable drainage design, flood surveying, and strategic flood risk assessment support.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilising advanced tools and technologies, while also supporting natural flood management initiatives.
At FPS we have recently won a place as the Primary Delivery Partner on the Environment Agency's Property Flood Resilience Framework in the North East and North West, alongside other exciting projects.

In this position, you will:
- Play a key role in executing Property Flood Resilience (PFR) projects nationwide, conducting detailed assessments of buildings prone to flooding to determine how water enters, suggesting PFR strategies, and verifying the correct implementation of these measures postinstallation.
- Evaluate flood risks from various sources utilising existing data, alongside performing specific surveys and tests (such as photographic and measurement surveys).
- Identify potential hazards associated with the installation of PFR solutions.
- Prepare clear and concise reports outlining findings and recommendations in plain English.
- Assist in the creation of essential documentation for health & safety and contract management, including specifications, bills of quantities, CDM risk assessments, and Pre-Construction Information.
- Ensure project delivery meets the established standards of quality, timeline, and budget, providing feedback to enhance business outcomes.
- Offer support to other business areas, including conducting routine and postflood asset inspections for the Environment Agency and Lead Local Flood Authorities.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Building Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A valid driving license and the willingness to travel extensively across the UK.
- A proactive attitude with a keenness to learn and succeed.
- Excellent organizational skills, confidence in planning, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- A compassionate approach towards individuals affected by flooding, coupled with a desire to assist affected communities.
- Proficiency in relevant IT software.
Salary:
£24,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
