Application Support Executive

About the Role:


As an Application Support Executive, you will be responsible for the end-to-end customer support function for our websites, eProcurement and CMS, from responding to the initial enquiry to ensuring successful outcomes.


Reporting to the Digital Product Director and working closely with the Digital Systems Product Owner, you'll work in the Digital Team within Emerging Markets.


You'll be joining the team at an exciting time as we approach the end of a major redesign and re-platforming of our website, moving away from a multi-page site to a fully responsive Single Page Application written in React.

RS Emerging Markets maintains a portfolio of 28 websites operating in 30+ countries, both direct to customers and via 3rd party distributors representing the brand.

This role primarily focuses on customer support-based tasks enabling the website to operate smoothly and successfully. You'll collaborating with stakeholders around the world to ensure that customers have a great online experience.


The role will also be expected to run monthly / ad hoc reports to maintain the integrity of the data at the heart of the web experience.


This role gives the successful applicant a great opportunity to understand how an international Ecommerce platform functions and influence its ongoing performance & optimization.

Useful Experience

  • 2 years+ experience in an IT/Digital role and/or relevant IT qualification(s)
  • Have a good understanding of the following:
  • JSON / XML / XSLT
  • FTP
  • HTTP
  • Restful services / Graph QL
  • Automated testing tools and approaches
  • An understanding of Computer Systems / Programming / Databases.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written. You'll be comfortable talking to both technical and nontechnical people.
  • You'll enjoy problem troubleshooting and getting to the root of the issue.
  • Have a handson approach and be able to work under your own initiative.
  • Confident and persuasive, with the ability to present and sell ideas to senior management and stakeholders.
