Trainee Sheet Metal Worker

Job Summary:

We're looking for a motivated Trainee Sheet Metal Worker to join our team and kickstart a career in the fabrication of sheet metal products.

As a Trainee Sheet Metal Worker, you'll receive comprehensive training to learn the skills required to fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components used across various industries, including defence, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical.

This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals keen on gaining hands-on experience and developing a rewarding career in metalworking.

Responsibilities:

Adhere to strict safety procedures and protocols in the sheet metal fabrication environment.
Assist experienced sheet metal workers in fabricating and assembling sheet metal components according to technical drawings and specifications.
Operate hand and power tools such as shears, press brakes, punches, and drills under close supervision.
Learn to interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately to ensure precise fabrication.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
Develop skills to identify and troubleshoot issues with fabricated components and assist in implementing solutions.
Follow instructions from senior sheet metal workers and supervisors to ensure top-notch workmanship and efficiency.

Requirements:

GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Basic numeracy skills and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Physical fitness and agility to perform tasks involving heavy lifting, bending, and standing for prolonged periods.
Exceptional attention to detail and a dedication to producing high-quality work.
Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Access to reliable transportation to and from job sites or training facilities.
