JOB OVERVIEW


We are seeking a passionate individual to contribute to the design, delivery, and development of modules offered by Kingston University International Study Centre.

As an AES Tutor, your role will involve working collaboratively with the Centre's academic team to deliver high-quality modules for international students within Academic English skills.


As an AES Tutor, you will be expected to contribute to the Centre's continuous improvement initiatives, including providing feedback on existing modules and developing new ones that reflect the evolving needs of students and the University.

You will work closely with the academic team to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities, assessment strategies, and student support mechanisms.


ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Contribute to the design, delivery and development of modules offered by Kingston University International Study Centre.
  • Prepare and deliver teaching lectures, seminars, and tutorial sessions, with variable contact hours of up to 25 hours per week.
  • Write and prepare unit examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment.
  • Mark students' formative and summative assessment submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance, including tutorials and writing regular student reports.
  • Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions, including module material for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  • Work with the Centre's administration team in the delivery of induction, orientation, and registration programmes.
  • Notify and liaise with colleagues, where necessary, to ensure all students receive appropriate ongoing welfare and progression support.
  • Track students' academic journey and identify and implement appropriate intervention strategies to support ongoing learning.
  • Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session levels and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of courses.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of students' attendance and performance.

ABOUT YOU

  • Relevant Teaching Qualification: TEFL-I/ TEFLQ status such as CELTA/DELTA/Trinity Dip or equivalent, and/or MA in TESOL/TEFL/Linguistics.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Experience teaching in the UK Higher or Further education sector and preferably a teaching qualification and experience of working with international students.
