Job overview:
An opportunity has arisen for two 23 hours per week Healthcare Assistant's post working within a busy Minor Injury Unit at Liskeard Hospital.
One post is a Permanent HCA post and the other is a one year fixed term contract HCA post covering maternity.
Key Dimensions of the post are: 49 bedded Community Hospital (spread over 2 Wards - Oak 30 Beds, Willow 19 Beds)Outpatients Department
Minor Injuries Department
X-ray Department
Physiotherapy Department
The MIU is open from hours, 7 days a week and shifts will include working long days, weekends and bank holidays.

We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

Education:
Essential criteria:
- GCSE Maths and English
- NVQ 2 in Health Care, or Equivalent
- Advanced clinical skills or a willingness to attain these skills eg venepuncture ECG recording
Desirable criteria:
- NVQ 3 in Direct Care is desirable
Experience:
Essential criteria:
- Previous experience as a HCA within a hospital setting
- IELTS, unless qualification tak
