DATA ENGINEERING SENIOR MANAGER

£90,000 - £100,000

HYBRID - LONDON / IPSWICH
This is a great opportunity for a Data Engineer to step into a management position where they can showcase their own technical qualities and help guide this large insurance company to complete one of the largest migration projects within the industry


THE COMPANY
This company is one of the UK's largest insurance firms.

They have been established for a long time now and have always been at the forefront of the industry's advancements in the data space.

Now looking to collate all of their data into one focussed platformthey are requiring the assistance of a strong Data Engineer to offer guidance.


THE ROLE
In this role, you will be still offering development and coding expertise on a hands-on level.

However, this is only to a small degree as most of your work will be taking a higher management perspective of the project, reviewing the work, and ensuring themigration is going to plan.

You will also be heavily engaged with stakeholders and dealing with representatives from the relevant verticals within the business, such as the Data Scientists, to ensure the project will meet requirements.

You will be leadinga small team of Data Engineers on this Data Lake migration project.


YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
To be successful in this role you should expect to have the following:

  • Experience with Azure as a cloud platform
  • Strong in the use of Python and SQL
  • Great communication skills and the ability to deal with higher management
  • Ability to work well with and lead small teams
  • Databricks and Spark experiences are also preferable
