What does the role look like?
Collins Aerospace are currently recruiting for a Master Production Schedule Planner (MPS Planner) to join the team here on the Stafford Road,


This permanent role is key to the business, in particular the Highlift value stream, and is a great opportunity to add significant value whilst developing your own skills and furthering your career.

This role would be a good fit for a Demand Planner, Master Scheduler, Supply Analyst or similar.


What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Maintaining accurate production schedules in SAP including SAP APO to meet daily, monthly, and annual customer requirements which align to our operational execution and financial plan.
  • Identifying MPS arrears and working closely with internal stakeholders, whilst creating different strategies which reduce the arrears and maintain our target of at least 95% stability.
  • Following the MPS and inventory guidelines to achieve 100% process compliances.
  • Creating a monthly and yearly 'hours forecasting plan'.
  • Providing data for the longrange plan (LRP) on the demand, MPS and VPS (Vehicle Production Schedule) for the Value Stream on an annual basis.
  • Creating and monitoring a realistic buffer strategy for the Value Stream which the Operational team can effectively execute.
  • Working closely with the Demand Planner to ensure the MPS is aligned in accordance with any weekly changes.
  • Reporting daily metrics required for the site on arrears, shipments, and sales.
  • Creating a number of reports from SAP, Tableau and other dashboards that detail the performance of the Value Stream.
  • Generating a monthly capacity plan and reviewing with all necessary internal stakeholders; outlining the number of hours, people, resources required to execute the MPS for the immediate and the outer years.
  • Reviewing part by part the MPS plan to identify any risks which may result in increasing arrears or shortfalls in supply.
  • Supporting the monthly SIOP Supply reviews by creating detailed presentation packs of data on areas affecting the customer requirements.
  • Reviewing and communicating the supply metrics in monthly SIOP supply reviews.
  • Supporting emergency SIOP reviews as and when they are required.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to validate the planning parameters and other SAP master data elements on a regular basis.
  • Developing/generating and maintaining the daily/weekly/monthly KPI's.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Knowledge of capacity plans.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, prioritise workload, and to work in a team whilst being able to work alone.
  • A tendency to embrace change, be innovative and use problem solving techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience o fcultivating excellent working relationshisp with internal customers which allows open discussion and feedback on the MPS strategy and execution.

Essential skills:


  • 12 years of experience in master production planning or similar role.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (preferably SAP MM and APO).
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced MS office skills to include Excel
  • Knowledge of inventory management and materials management methodologies.

Desirable skills:


  • Bachelor degree in business/operations/supply chain or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing operation systems (CORE/ACE/6 Sigma).
  • Understanding of business KPI's and financial goals.
