At IQVIA we offer our clients unrivalled access to patient level data and analysis, providing deep market understanding at national and sub-national level and detailed insights into how their own and competitors' products are used in 'real world' treatment settings.

The successful applicant will be responsible for sales of our primary care longitudinal patient and prescribing datasets (LPD and DRX) for commercial use by UK-based local and HQ pharmaceutical, consumer and para-health companies.

The UKI Commercial Solutions team is a small, close knit group of offering experts working collaboratively within a wide, global sales and delivery network.

We take pride in designing and delivering a diverse range of continuous and ad hoc projects that help our clients' businesses succeed.

Role Purpose

The main role of the Solution Sales Specialist is to drive new subscriptions and ad hoc sales for specific products/services.

Your knowledge and consultative approach will deliver syndicated and tailored solutions to meet clients' business needs.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To achieve revenue and growth targets for IQVIA's primary care patient data solutions through a consultative sales approach that solves clients' business issues.
  • Through proactive contact with existing and potential clients, generate new and incremental revenue from subscriptions and ad hoc analyses and regularly interface with customers at all levels to ensure solutions become entrenched within their businesses.
  • Develop capabilities presentations, case studies, general and targeted client promotional materials for assigned solutions.
  • Actively raise awareness of assigned solutions within IQVIA to ensure that leads are generated from across the organisation and passed on.
  • Collaborate closely with Key Account Managers, other Sales Specialists and colleagues across the organisation to identify and target opportunities.
  • Create and present creative client proposals that result in conversion of sales leads.
  • Create detailed project specifications, brief delivery teams, monitor project delivery, implementation and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to account planning strategy as it relates to assigned solutions.
  • Seek 'starburst' opportunities within existing customers to grow revenue across the IQVIA portfolio.
  • As part of the sales process, gather market and client intelligence and provide strategic feedback to consulting, client service and sales teams to strengthen IQVIA's product offerings and capture additional business.
  • Contribute to regular forecasting, budgeting and business planning processes

Skills & Qualifications

  • A successful track record in identifying and closing new business opportunities, or the aptitude and motivation to develop and refine consultative selling skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with proven ability to analyse and translate data into key insights and recommendations.
  • Proactive and well organised
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment.
  • Collaborative and consultative able to develop positive relationships at all levels of client companies and within IQVIA sales, consulting and marketing teams.
  • Understanding of key marketplace issues for the UK pharmaceutical industry and related businesses.
  • Existing experience, or ability to quickly assimilate in depth knowledge, in one or more IQVIA specialist areas, including longitudinal patient databases.
  • Ideally, familiarity with IQVIA core products and information solutions/ consulting services portfolio.
