Description

You will be responsible for:


  • A global, multi cloud infrastructure with over 60 Kubernetes clusters
  • Growing the network to 600+ Kubernetes clusters
  • Implementing new features for Polaris, the network management system
  • Implementing canary deployment and automated canary analysis systems
  • Integrating key systems with third party tools following best practices
  • Maintaining immutable infrastructure with tools like Helm / Terraform
  • Providing technical leadership for the systems behind the Marco Polo Network
  • Collaborating with engineering leadership and assisting engineering teams in the use of technologies such as Go, Python, Groovy, Postgres, Kubernetes
  • Reporting the right things in the right way at the right time
  • Effectively execute any special projects or adhoc tasks as assigned

On any given day you might:

  • Analyse complex problems and come up with efficient and effective solutions
  • Look for new ways to improve key systems, tools and processes
  • Collaborate with development teams to deliver new features and releases
  • Work closely with architecture, development, delivery, product and leadership
  • Support technical people in identifying and overcoming complex obstacles
  • Facilitate onboarding of new engineering team members
  • Help celebrate individuals and the teams' successes
  • Refine new work, break it down into small manageable tasks and ensure execution in a timely fashion

You will bring

  • An eagerness to learn, grow your career and take on greater responsibility
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership position
  • 10+ years of experience in a systems engineering / devops engineering role
  • Proven track record managing distributed systems at scale
  • Must have experience with Golang, Python or similar
  • Strong experience with cloud technologies (Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud)
  • Strong experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Elasticsearch)
  • Strong experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Terraform or other configuration management tools
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools and best practices
