Transport Supervisor, Avonmouth, Bristol

Resolve Recruitment are proud to be working with one of the largest distributors of kitchens and bathrooms from within the DIY markets.

Due to continued growth, our client seek an experienced Transport Supervisor/Transport Team Leader to work from theirAvonmouth depot.

Overview:

To assist the transport team (up to 30 including drivers and support staff) in the smooth efficient safe and compliant running of the depot's transport operation achieving the highest standard of customer service.

Core Responsibilities:

Maintain roadworthy vehicles in line with VOSA guide to roadworthiness.
Ensure all drivers hours are monitored and controlled in accordance with EC driver's hours regulations.
Strictly follow the PMI schedule.
Manage all other aspects of Operator Compliance.
Ensure every delivery is signed for either on paperwork or PDA.
Ensure all PDA's are in full working order or repaired quickly.
Clearly communicate with all departments the delivery/service performance including failure reporting.
To ensure sufficient resource is available for the daily delivery requirement.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and security of the vehicles.
Work closely with the warehouse to resolve queries/issues
Scheduling equipment maintenance by booking jobs at appropriate service agents (or in house).
Ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported in compliance with company and HSE policies.

Skills & Experience:

A minimum of 18 months experience with a Transport Supervisor/Transport Team Leader capacity
Selfdriven, results orientated with a clear focus on exceeding targets.
A natural planner who critically assesses performance and learns from it.
A team player, able to influence, coach and lead others.
A hands on approach that includes being able to go out on the road delivering to customers in case of emergencies.
Effective communicator, able to communicate clearly and succinctly at all levels within the business.
Maintain excellent working relationships with service agents and driver agencies.
Strong leadership, employee development and motivational abilities.

Package & Hours:

Working Tuesday to Saturday between the hours of 1000am & 1900pm
A starting salary of up to £27,500 (DOE)
