The School of Sport and Health Sciences is one of the largest schools in the University and probably the most eclectic in terms of educational provision.

As part of this varied portfolio sits a relatively large number of Allied Health professional and post registration nursing programmes including a large CPD portfolio.

Furthermore, the School boasts one of the largest portfolios of sport-related programmes in the UK.

This ranges from foundation entry through to level 8 PhD-based programmes as well as extensive credit and non-credit bearing CPD courses.


The School has a relatively large number of HCPC-regulated programmes including Physiotherapy, Paramedic Science, Operating Departmental Practice, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy.

The successful applicant will be joining a school with over 150 members of staff and will work closely with the course teams to teach specific modules and deliver clinical skills on the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science programme and to assist in the delivery of Clinical and Mandatory Skills teaching for pre and post registration Acute, Critical and Emergency care students and other Allied Health students.

The applicant needs to have vocational training/education in Healthcare (IHCD or equivalent, be a moving and handing trainer and basic life support instructor.

A bachelors honours degree in a health related topic or equivalent experience is essential, as well as a teaching qualification or willingness to undertake on appointment and the postholder will have some educational experience in paramedicine and/or emergency care.
