We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Orthoptist to join our team as a Band 5 or 6 Orthoptist depending on experience, this is a newly created post as the department continues to expand and offer new and exciting opportunities.


Applications are welcomed from Orthoptists wishing to join the Trust at newly qualified or 1- 2 year post registration level.


This is a preceptorship role, to begin with, as a Newly qualified Orthoptist you will spend time gaining experience in managing Paediatric and Adult Orthoptic case loads.

As well as assisting our Glaucoma and Macular teams with Humphrey Visual Fields and OCT.


Our Specialist and Highly Specialist Orthoptists carry out a wide range of extended roles including Glaucoma, IVT, Stroke, Paediatric Refraction, Low Vision Aids, ROP screening and Special School Orthoptic clinics.

We were very closely with other members of the Eye Treatment Centre Team including the doctors, Ophthalmic Nurses and Care Assistants as well as the those from other specialities such as Neurology, Endocrinology and Elderly Care.

Depending on your interest and service need there will be opportunities to develop into some of these extended roles.
