Careers Adviser Hillingdon Level 4 or Level 6.


Vacancies are available in the following regions: The Global Academy Hillingdon.


Salary:
starting salary for level 4 qualified is £28,006 and level 6 qualified is £29,982 per annum FTE (including London Weighting) (annual increments)

This is part time, term time only role at The Global Academy Hillingdon on a rolling contract. (22 hours per week)

Key duties:


Global Academy is a media state school for Year students in West London that prepares young people for a career in the creative media industry in partnership with Global - one of the world's leading media and entertainment groups and lots of othercreative industry partners.

We are looking for a highly motivated Careers Adviser with an interest and ideally a background in Media to provide high quality careers guidance to its students.

The successful applicant must be highly motivated and a self-starterwith the ability to engage with student, teachers, parents, and carers.

Although experience is not necessary, we are looking for an individual with the passion to work with young people interested in the creative media industry.

Desirable attributes wouldinclude having the experience of delivery careers guidance in a similar setting


In addition You will produce tailored careers information, advice and guidance to meet the needs of young people including vulnerable groups and those with special educations needs and disabilities (SEND); taking part in reviews as required.

Support theschool in achieving the Gatsby benchmarks. These are face to face, term time only vacancies in schools in the above boroughs. We have both part time and full time opportunities.


You will have:

  • Level 4 or 6 qualification in careers guidance
  • Experience of working with young people preferably in a school or college setting
  • Thorough knowledge of education, employment, training and personal development opportunities that are available for young people/labour market information
  • Provide careers advice and guidance in a onetoone setting or group workshop/assemblies to support students with their career aspirations.
  • Arrange career talks and a range of activities for students
  • Have the ability to engage with and inspire young people with SEND and disadvantaged as well as with their parents/carers
  • Support the Schools Careers Leader to implement and enhance the schools programme to contribute towards meetings the Gatsby Benchmarks.
  • Demonstrate professional commitment to Children's rights, equal opportunities and diversity.
  • Undertake administration duties to ensure that all delivery evidence is complete and compliant in line with contract and quality standards.


Our Careers Advisers are expected to work flexibly and independently but will be supported as part of the wider team.

Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills


Job type: 22 hours per week
