We are looking for a caretaker to join our welcoming and friendly school at Iford and Kingston. The school building is well laid out and has fantastic grounds.

The role of a caretaker is fundamental to our school and they are an important member of our team. We are very sorry to see our caretaker/cleaner leave us after working with us for a number of years.

The work would be carried out in the morning or the afternoon. The contract is for 52 weeks a year less paid holiday. We are also appointing cleaners.


The responsibilities would include:

  • Maintaining clean, safe and secure school premises, which includes buildings and grounds.
  • Carrying out handyperson activities, routine maintenance and refurbishment and minor repairs.
  • Maintain the general school premises, furniture and fittings and reporting any issues.
  • Maintain the security of the school premises as the main key holder.
  • Lock and unlock the premises as required.
  • Carry out regular checks of premises equipment.
  • Carry out and record health and safety checks.
This is a role with an East Sussex permanent contract which includes holiday pay and a pension.
