Description

With over 30million workers in the UK, speaking up or raising a concern in the workplace is crucially important to stop harm; to individuals, to organisations and to the wider public.

Whistleblowing ultimately protects customers, staff, beneficiaries, and the organisation itself by identifying harm before it's too late.

Protect is the UK's whistleblowing charity and we are the leading experts in whistleblowing. We aim to stop harm by encouraging safe whistleblowing.

We have advised around 45,000 people on our free, confidential advice line, trained thousands of managers, senior managers and board members and currently support hundreds of organisations to strengthen their internal whistleblowing or 'speak up' arrangements.

We also campaign for better public policy and legal protection.

Protect - Speak up, stop harmMeetings are usually held in London in person, and/or via video conference**Protect is seeking to find a passionate, committed and inclusive Chair who will work in partnership with the Board and Senior Team to lead the organisation through a time of growth and increased impact.

The Chair plays a crucial role in driving the charity to achieve its vision: to bring about a world where no whistleblower goes unheard or unprotected, and in demonstrating and communicating our values as an organisation of being supportive, independent, expert and collaborative.

We are looking for individuals who bring a strong commitment to the purpose, vision, activities and objectives of Protect, as well as:

  • Experience of leadership at a senior level in the corporate or charity sectors.
  • An understanding of the requirements for sustainable growth.
  • Ability to act as an ambassador with external stakeholders.
  • Experience of supporting leaders through periods of growth.

Protect is committed to achieving greater diversity in its board, and actively encourages Black people and People of Colour, disabled people and young people, who are currently under-represented at board level, to apply.
