About this opportunity

Lloyds Banking Group are seeking a Business Platform Lead for our Client Data and Analytics platform.

In collaboration with the Technology Platform lead (TPL), this platform will build high quality, re-usable, Data Products that support data-driven client propositions and insights and make it easy for colleagues to access the client, product & transactional data needed to perform their roles.


You'll be responsible for setting the long-term vision and strategy for the Platform, encouraging key partners to get on board and actively support the strategy.


In this role you'll improve the quality of client data through automated external data ingestion, deployment of tooling for the capture of metadata and the management of data quality.


The platform will also have a role to play as a centre of excellence for data consumption use cases within the Business and Commercial Banking (BCB) and Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) platforms.


The Business Lead and Technical Lead assume joint accountability for the ownership, leadership, development and end to end ground-breaking delivery and run of the Client Data & Analytics Platform.


Accountabilities include:

  • Set the vision, a directive and strategic roadmap for the Platform technology activities to demonstrate value and to nurture quality of delivery.
  • Responsible for delivering strategic planning, oversight and developing a compelling customer offering, underpinned by sound, balanced commercials.
  • Source, curate, build, develop, maintain and own the infrastructure and data enabling client facing teams to develop insights and analytics that support business strategy and businessled activities such as assessment and modelling of sophisticated transactions, identification of prospective clients, identification of additional needs of existing clients (providing revenue opportunity).
  • Ensure that Labs and Feature Teams for both Run and Change activity are working on the right set of Customer and Business Problems "building the right things, in the right way" and that the appropriate value is being realised by the Bank. This could be Transformational/ Legal/ Regulatory/ Mandatory (LRM) / Run/ Rectification and Remediation investment.
  • Accountable for designing and building data products, services and journeys that are valuable, sustainable and reusable.
  • Realise the business benefits / value in line with agreed Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and turning points and be the 'chief benefits officer' for the Platform.
  • Deliver both short and long term business objectives in a manner compliant with the Group's risk appetite and standards of colleague conduct and aligned to the Group's data and technology strategies.
  • Collaborate and set expectations with the TPL. Act as a primary liaison between partners, customers, and builds strong networks across the wider Group and externally.
  • Lead, empower and inspire a diverse team to dedication, building and embedding a strong culture that lives the Group values. Drive a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

What you'll need

  • Experience in delivery of technology change across software and infrastructure.
  • Strong experience owning and delivering products/solutions over the entire lifecycle in a multiteam environment and multichannel context.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills, using techniques to influence internal and external individuals.
  • Experience conveying customer trends; excellent feel for exceptional user experiences and design.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with a passion for team development; allowing colleagues to develop in different/ new technologies and mature in ways of working, resulting in a successful team.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment in which we operate in order to identify, be responsible for and mitigate commercial risks.
  • And any experience of these would be really useful
  • Experience of leading teams using agile methodologies and settings with shown knowledge of the competitor landscape, customer behaviour and capability complexities.
  • Detailed knowledge of the UK financial services market, ideally in the Client Data & Analytics domain.
  • Understanding of current in the state of technology, and in particular its applicability to the platform.
  • Deep knowledge of relevant markets and competitor landscapes, including emerging products and services.
