Description

Manthorpe Building Products is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed and extruded products for the building industry.


Role:

To carry out tool changes and insert changes within the injection moulding department to maintain optimum production, whilst being fully compliant to all corporate and legislative standards and guidelines.


Responsibilities:


  • To set injection moulding tools in various machines and achieve high quality parts at the optimum cycle time.
  • Understand safe working practices within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure that the manufactured product meets the required quality standard.
  • To maintain a safe working environment.
  • Carry out scheduled mould tool changes quickly, efficiently, and effectively to minimise changeover times and machine downtime.
  • Monitoring cycle times against target cycle times on a regular basis, ensuring deviations are identified and rectified in a timely manner.
  • Working as part of the production team and providing support for other Setters and moulding operatives.
  • To have excellent timekeeping skills and to be able to meet production deadlines.
  • Changing and replenishing raw materials, refilling hopper loaders and day bins as required.
  • After initial line start up, and using the relevant master sample for the job, which is due to start a production run, obtain an acceptable first off approved sample for the Shift Team Leader and Quality Assurance Department.
  • Reporting any tooling faults and filling in the correct paperwork to record quality or tooling issues which are encountered for further investigation work to be carried out.
  • Setting and adjusting 3 axis and 6 axis robots to remove the mouldings efficiently from the mould tools.
  • Conducting material and colour changes as dictated by the production schedule.
  • Focusing on health and safety on all activities undertaken.

Requirements:


  • Relevent experience in an Injection Moulding / Setter role
  • IMT Level 2 or higher would be preferred
  • Robot Programming experience/understanding
  • A 'can do' attitude

The working hours for this role are 3 rotating shifts Monday
  • Friday covering the hours of 6:00am2:30pm, 2:00pm10:30pm, 10:00pm6:30am._

The rate of pay is £14.41 per hour including shift allowance._
