About the role:
ABC Teachers are seeking support Worker to work in a Special Educational Needs School in Birmingham to work on a full time basis.
The schools require Support Workers with experience working with disengaged students and students with learning difficulties mainly Autism to provide support on an ad-hoc basis.
About the role:
- Working with groups of primary aged students in nonmainstream education.
- Deliver support and help where needed as a Support Mentor.
- You will be under the instruction of the class teacher but have to work on your own initiative too.
- Ideal for people seeking flexible work, as the cover for these sessions is required on an adhoc basis.
About you:
To be considered for the Support Mentor position, you will:
- Have previous experience working with children with a range of abilities and maybe some special education needs.
- Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
- Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
