MMP Consultancy are looking for a Support Officer to join a fantastic Local Authority based in Essex on a Temporary Basis.

Service/Functional Accountabilities:


  • Administration of the High Needs Funding (HNF) budget, which includes ensuring all data is current and accurate. Highlighting changes to funding, education placements and support needs that have an impact on the HNF budget.
  • Processing of post 16 education contracts, raising purchase orders and payment of invoices to ensure funding is allocated promptly and appropriately and in accordance with ECC systems.
  • Review of EHCP against HNF college request. Processing lowcost placements, reporting significant changes to HNF Manage. Collate, record and track decisions, current spend, forecast spend and other financial commitments
  • Coordination of the High Needs Funding learners' annual reviews throughout the academic year. Meeting with internal and external stakeholders to monitor ongoing work.
  • Respond to financial queries by investigating systems with follow up conversations with Social Workers, Team Managers, education providers and other supporting colleagues
  • Produce accurate reports at regular intervals that assist the high needs funding
  • Responsible for sharing relevant information and data, to internal and external colleagues on a regular basis, ensuring the data is saved and shared, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:


  • Educated to Level 2 (GCSE) with a sound knowledge of working with different systems and processes within a business environment.
  • Ability to record and review financial information within databases to support operational decision making.
  • Good knowledge of working with databases and data sets, demonstrating accuracy and efficiency.
  • Undertaking basic analysis to identify errors quickly and offer speedy and customer focussed solutions.
  • The role requires attention to detail with the ability to compile and work with statistics to produce accurate reports.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Microsoft Excel) is essential as is the ability to learn new systems. Ability to type quickly and accurately to record decisions within meetings and forums.
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to translate information/data in a clear way, to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to develop tools that will have a focus on results, supporting behaviour and forging strong links with individuals and teams to support operational targets.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area
