Logistics Operative

Permanent Position

Excellent salary/package (Holiday: 25 days + 8 Statutory Days, Pension up to 6% matched,
Life Assurance: 5x Basic Salary, shift premium)


Double Day Shifts

Mornings (Monday - Thursday - 5:45am - 13:30pm & Friday 5:45am - 12:15pm)

Afternoons (Monday - Thursday 12:15pm - 21:00pm & Friday 11:45am - 18:15pm)

Growing Manufacturing Business

Birmingham

My client are a precision manufacturing business based North Birmingham specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components. The Logistics Operative will be responsible for delivering the safe and efficient receipt,storage and distribution of goods, to ensure that orders are satisfied correctly.

Logistics Operative

  • Picking and booking out of Kits for Assembly
  • Bandsaw training preferred with certificate showing training completed
  • Receiving and Issuing Parts
  • Signing for and booking in goods and scanning material certificates
  • General scanning
  • Issuing Raw materials to the Machine Shop, and operating a mechanical saw
  • Despatching items
  • Deliveries and collections to and from Customers, Suppliers and Subcontractors
  • Operation of Fork Lift Truck
  • Participating in cross functional teams
  • Maintain Stock Accuracy for Stock Evaluation
  • Maintain the ERP and stores systems using the correct standard operating procedures, ensuring materials are correctly booked out
  • Identify and assist with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the department

Logistics Operative

Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills:

  • Valid UK Full Driving Licence
  • Experience of using counterbalance FLT and also a valid FLT Counterbalance licence
  • Competent level of knowledge and experience of logistics & stores principles and practices

  • Experience of working with and implementing Lean manufacturing tools and techniques
