Description

Founded in 1982 Kwan Yick are a family run business and one of the largest suppliers of Oriental foods, sauces and packaging materials in the UK.

Due to a period of growth, we are hiring an additional Buyer

Ideally, you will already have experience of working in a fast paced, logistics environment within the food sector

About the role:

Process purchase order management through to completion
Forecasting using historic sales figures, and liaising with the sales team to understand future market requirements
Negotiate strategic agreements on behalf of the company
Research markets and new products
Maintain an extensive knowledge of company product portfolio
Run reports and present data to Directors upon request
Liaise with internal accounts, warehouse, transport and sales teams as well as suppliers and customers on a daily basis
Working alongside our logistics partners in order to track all stock movements on a global basis
Monitor supplier contracts
Manage an inventory of products
Build relationships with suppliers in the far east and worldwide
Recommend efficiencies and improvements of buying processes
General procurement team administration
Some travel will be required globally
To carry out any other reasonable task that maybe required from a senior manager or Director

About you:

The ability to speak Cantonese / Mandarin is highly desirable due to our customer and supplier base
At least 1 years' experience in a similar role
Driven and highly organised
Thrives in a busy, fast paced environment
Superb communications skills
Enjoys and works well with others
Great interpersonal skills
IT proficient with MS Office skills
