An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our team at our Thornton Waste Treatment Facility as a General Operative.

Reporting into the Mobile Plant Team Leaders, the General Operative will be responsible for general processing activities within the operational areas, as part of a welcoming and effective team.

No prior experience is necessary with full training provided.

Job Summary:

The General Operative will be responsible for activities associated with processing operations and the general site.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform onsite processing and general site activities in a safe and compliant manner.
Liaise with operations and maintenance teams to ensure optimal operations and maintenance of the processing systems and infrastructure within the facility.
Provide hands on support as required for all functions of the processing operations and for the general site as necessary.
Provide & update documentation for activities.
Complete housekeeping cleaning activities for the processing operations and site wide areas.

Person Specification:

Skills and knowledge:

Basic knowledge of English and Maths
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively with operational staff

Desirable role specific training skills to include, (but may be provided):

National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) or equivalent for FEL
Competency to operate wheeled loading shovel Road Sweeper (Scarab), Hooklift and Mobile Grapple, Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP)
Knowledge of Weighbridge operations
