We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sonographers to join our busy, friendly and supportive team in the Imaging Department as bank staff.
You will need to be able to work independently demonstrating a high level of competence and you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
The Sonographer will be involved in the delivery of obstetric, general and gynaecological ultrasound services to all patients attending the imaging department, satellite units and wards, with the option of some weekend working, evening shifts.
They will be able to organise their workload efficiently and liase with referrers and other staff to optimise service delivery.
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology scanning
- General, vascular scanning (optional)
Excellent communication skills are essential due to the need to deliver highly sensitive and potentially upsetting information to both patients and relatives.
The Sonographer will also assist in the training and supervision of students in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, newly qualified staff and other professional groups.
Each year we deliver over 7,500 babies, carry out over 49,000 gynaecological inpatient and outpatient procedures, care for over 1,000 poorly & preterm newborns, perform around 1,000 IVF cycles and have over 4,000 genetic appointments taking place.

Generation of quality ultrasound reports
Supervision and teaching of ultrasound students.
Liaising with other departments and professionals within the Trust.
