Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre Twinwoods Business Park, Bedford MK44 1FD

Full time 40 hours Salary £19,760 per annum


Yarl's Wood IRC (Immigration Removal Centre) is a fully contained residential centre housing adult men and women awaiting immigration clearance.

We focus on decency and respect in all aspects of care for our residents and use continuous innovation to further improve and develop our service.

Within the centre we accommodate an everchanging population from a variety of backgrounds, all with different faiths, beliefs and cultural values.

Here at Serco, we have an exciting opportunity for a Detainee Service Administrators to join our team.

Based in the Governance team, you will be responsible for focusing on administration for any reports and action plans.

Specifically, you will be responsible for administrative functions within the Department, collating and managing complaints, monitoring self-audits and audit actions ensuring adherence to basic audit principles as well as closely managing the consolidated action plan.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for drafting monthly business critical reports as and when is required.

You will be available to assist with minute taking on key business meetings, assisting the Compliance Administrator in completing daily duties as well as assisting Governance Manager in conducting daily dip checks on performance.

You will also be responsible for;

  • Basic administration and support.
  • Assist in the day to running of the Department ensuring good quality assurance is being undertaken.
  • Supporting other business services roles within the Centre when appropriate.

What you need to do the role:
We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and

Proven experience of handling difficult situations.


It is essential that the successful post holder has excellent computer and typing skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

They must have the ability to work flexibly and to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.

It is important that they can work well independently as well as part of a Team working skills
