About the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our business Lycetts Insurance Brokers in Newcastle.


This position will involve supporting the underwriting manager, senior underwriter and underwriters in the management of the insurance and financial services business for Lycetts clients and prospects.

You will be working in a supportive team environment and training will be provided.


Key responsibilities:


  • Maintain record keeping requirements through use of OpenGI and other systems as required
  • Create and complete the renewal review template, renewal schedules and claims experience sheets for team underwriters to the required deadline prior to renewal
  • Assist in the preparation of management information reports to the required deadline
  • Prepare and issue Mid Term Adjustments as directed (to be signed off by the Underwriting Manager or senior team member)
  • Input renewal amendments and/or issue renewal confirmations where requested
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (underwriters, insurers, other insurance teams, Financial Services and Risk Management Services)
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of Lycetts products, as applicable to product licences
  • Develop knowledge of industry and sector with reference to trade and industry media
  • Answer queries in relation to bordereau reports
  • Ensure that the delegated authority limits set out within delegated authority agreements are not exceeded
  • Process documentation for digital archiving
  • Correspond with fellow team members and colleagues as appropriate and directed
  • Maintain electronic files
  • Work within Compliance Framework required by the Company/Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
  • Identify and resolve any complaints and manage in line with company policy
  • Comply with all applicable sections of the Lycetts compliance manual

  • Clear communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Competent IT skills familiar with Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • The ability to build and manage cooperative and productive relationships
  • A quick learner with strong problem solving abilities
  • Must be prepared to develop insurance technical knowledge (Study towards Cert CII)
  • Position would suit someone satisfied in an officebased role and happy to work within a tight knit team.
  • Experience with OpenGI broking software (advantageous)
  • Insurance qualifications (The company holds Chartered Status and all staff are required to achieve formal qualifications with Cert CII as a minimum standard)
