International In-Person Representative
Pearson have exciting opportunities for teachers or administrators to become International In-Person Representative (IIPR) for our BTEC qualifications. Familiarity with BTEC is desirable, but sector expertise is not essential.

It is an excellent opportunity to earn some extra money in a part-time role, alongside any full-time commitments you may have, whilst also developing your career in education.


Purpose of this role:

  • To undertake inperson visits in Pearson approved centres to confirm that appropriate resources are present and that active teaching is taking place.
  • To support Standard Verifiers or External Examiners sampling BTEC programmes during the remote sampling process, where needed.

Key Accountabilities:

Covering a varied range of BTEC programmes, the IIPR will:

  • Provide a completed checklist to Pearson confirming the centre resources, staffing and general delivery.
  • Make judgements for an internal Pearson audience where it is found that the necessary resources or teaching CVs do not meet the required standard, and then escalate the matter within Pearson.
  • Support Standard Verifiers / External Examiners by translating during remote sampling visits, where needed.

Experience
Desirable

  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in the field of delivery, assessment or administration of vocational qualifications.
  • Relevant vocational experience.
Skills and knowledge needed

  • Ability to communicate in English at a professional level.
  • Fluency in Arabic.
  • Ability to use word processing and basic spreadsheets.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to complete the Pearson checklist using accepted conventions of appropriate language, grammar and accurate spelling.
Desirable

  • Ability to travel across international borders if necessary.

Requirements:


Any Assessment Associate undertaking this role must:

  • Understand the implications of decisions taken on behalf of Pearson.
  • Not operate outside the sphere of responsibility defined within this job description.
  • Have a postal address, preferably in the Middle East.
  • Have personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson required software
  • Have a suitable, reliable internet connection.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest that could impact on the role.
  • Complete annual updating training as required by Pearson.
  • Abide by the terms and conditions as stated in the contract for work.
  • Be flexible and be able to work with customised, unique specifications.
  • Work with the Deployment Department to arrange centre visits at appropriate times.
  • Be able to travel to undertake the role.

Additional information

  • Be required to undertake selection, interview and training activities.
  • Successful applicants will serve a probationary period during which they will be mentored and supported by experienced standards verifiers.
  • Inperson visits could take place conducted throughout the year by prior arrangement and with notice.
