Description

The purpose of this role is to create engaging 2D / 3D steel structure designs according to project requirements, working under the supervision of Senior Designers, Project managers and the Build Team to produce structurally sound and quality work.

The goal is to create impactful designs that capture Halo's company vision.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Work as part of the design team to understand the concept and requirements of a project from a clients brief.
  • Involved in the design and technical development stages of a project, consulting with project Leads, build managers and directors on fabrication, build, budget and timescales.
  • Drafting of conceptual, prototype and the fabrication structures, structural elements, developing new ideas and streamlining processes.
  • Have a good understanding of the fabrication techniques.
  • Work with structural engineers to ensure every structure is fit for purpose.
  • Work with fabricators / suppliers and their understanding of build methods, cost implications and time scales.
  • Produce technical documents such as technical construction drawings, components, sections, floor plans and electrical plans using industry standard software, researching new technologies to improve techniques.
  • Responsible for the continual development of Halo steel structures driving costs and time efficiencies down whilst ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained.
  • Keep up to date with relevant regulations, codes and legislation, ensuring that all Halo designs meet regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Assist the D&B Manager with processes relating to the project's design to ensure that everything is delivered to schedule and budget, working closely with surveyors and site managers and other key members of the project team.
  • Maintain regular communication with the wider design team, providing project updates at regular intervals.
  • Highly organised in the coordination of the steel fabrication process.
  • Maintain and develop inhouse systems to track and improve the fabrications process.

Role Requirements:


  • Educated to degree level in architecture, engineering, Industrial design or related disciplines
  • Good working Knowledge of SketchUP-Pro, Autocad, 2D and 3D.
  • Technical detailing ability, and good knowledge of construction and fabrication.
  • Understand the fundamentals of the engineering, design and drawing processes

Salary:
£40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
