JOB SUMMARY


Managing the Quality Management System with the food production and storage department managers to ensure the company complies with all food related standards and auditing bodies i.e.

FSA and SALSA.


DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage all aspects of the Company's adherence to food standards requirements and quality control, including updating and collating all due diligence paperwork associated with food production and storage, food production equipment maintenance checks etc.
  • Manage and update the Quality Management System regularly and in line with current FSA requirements.
  • Deal with all correspondence from FSA, other quality organizations, suppliers and customers with regard to food safety.
  • Constantly review and improve food quality procedures and documents.
  • Prepare for and support external quality audits; FSA, SALSA and customer audits and then produce, maintain, and update all paperwork and actions resulting from these audits as appropriate.
  • Lead and coordinate the company HACCP team and review the HACCP plan (at least annually).
  • Monitor current suppliers and approve any new suppliers.
  • Ensure all employees are following hygiene guidelines.
  • Organise calibration of food production related equipment.
  • Organise microbiological minced/processed meat testing and conduct quarterly water testing in the plant and maintain trending information. Liaise as appropriate with government bodies/external audit organisations, larger group customers if out of spec results are recorded. Manage remedial actions resulting from such issues.
  • Liaise with Pest Control company, analyse and record trend information and deal with any resulting issues.
  • Respond to and manage customer complaints relating to food safety issues.
  • Support product recalls as required e.g. out of spec microbiological results, customer complaints, supplier led product recalls. Provide feedback to FSA or customers as required.
  • Conduct regular checks across all departments for product dates, cleanliness of the areas and the fabric of the work areas are in good condition.

From £20,000.00 per year
