Job Purpose


The Production Supervisor directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.

Responsible for supervising production operations on a day-to-day basis to ensure optimum productivity. Allocates personnel, material, and equipment resources to meet production schedules. Monitors performance and adjusts resources as necessary. Coordinates with other Manufacturing Departments (i.e. Engineering, Maintenance, Materials) to obtain necessary support

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for 20 plus direct production personnel.

This person will be responsible for meeting daily production goals, training employees on continuous process improvements, and maintaining the highest quality standards.

This position is responsible for controlling overtime, and for cross training production personnel where required


Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prioritie and delegate work assignments to shop floor employees ensuring optimum productivity and quality is met
  • Monitor production output against schedules and allocate resources (personnel, equipment) as necessary
  • Prioritises production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency and materials supply
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
  • Provides guidance to direct reports within the scope of established company policies
  • Maintain quality standards and processes as stated in company and facility polices e.g. Health & Safety, Environmental and 5'S
  • Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff
  • Conduct Disciplinary and Investigation Hearings/Meetings and Performance Appraisal as and when required
  • Maintain T&A on a daily basis, conduct back to work interviews in a timely manner
  • Performs various administrative activities such as completing production reports,
  • Assists in the selection of new employees. Assist in the Training of new personnel on appropriate production methods. Familiarizes employees with Company policies and procedures.
  • Working with Manager to develop manpower forecast and schedules.
  • Where applicable carry out internal audits and out of box audits in a timely manner
  • Interacts with team members to develop relationships in a work environment that promotes respect, open discussion, and communication.
  • Continually seeks methods to improve quality and productivity. Looks for ways to streamline and complete tasks at a more efficient level.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience in an electronics production environment.
  • An awareness of statistical process control (SPC
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good understand of management and production flow.
  • Ability to provide direction and constructive feedback
  • Excellent PC skills are required.
  • Able to communicate with all levels within the Plant
  • IPC knowledge (IPC/WHMA-A620 preferable)
  • Good troubleshooting/problem solving skills
  • Ability to provide direction and constructive feedback
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to work on own initiative or as part of a small team
  • Awareness of:
