Intensive Care Unit
Band: 2 £22,383 per annum
Hours: 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
We are a supportive, growing team in an expanding city wanting to make a positive difference for our patients and families.
We are 10 bedded Intensive Care Unit in a University Teaching Hospital managing patients requiring both intensive and high dependency care, including the treatment and transfer of adult and paediatric patients for specialist management.
Holistic care is at the centre of everything we do, and we are proud to run a successful multidisciplinary rehabilitation service.
This is an exciting opportunity for you as a Health Care Assistant interested in a full or part time vacancy.

We require individuals to have acute hospital experience and demonstrate initiative, excellent communication and organisational skills and be prepared to be flexible within the role.

- To assist the nursing team in the delivery of safe effective care to the patient.
- To assist in ordering and maintaining safe levels of highcost disposables

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital; we conduct research and teaching on site to improve the care of our patients.
MKUH uses identification scanning technology to confirm the authenticity of documents; all prospective employees of MKUH will have their original documents verified using this technology.
- To assist all team members in the ICU, as required, in the direct delivery of patient care.
- To have knowledge of basic clinical observations.
- To be competent in the process of decontamination and reassembly of ventilators and humidification equipment.
- To assist in the induction of new staff within the department
- To organise own daily workload, adjusting priorities appropriately as the department activity dictates
- To ensure that patients relatives needs are met in a courteous, helpful and compassionate manner
