Hall Green, Birmingham

Salary - £25,000 pro rata per annum - depending on skills and experience.

Contract type - Fixed Term - June 2024 (potential to extend)

Working hours - Part Time 30 hours

About the role


We are currently recruiting for a Hall Green Family Support Advisor on a fixed term contract based on 30 hours per week.

This contract will be 3 months until June 2024 with the potential to extend.


You will provide flexible, practical, project support related to the Hall Green Families Team contract to deliver early help related support to families and young people, focusing on the service aims, families' preferences and self and professionally assessed risks and needs.

This role requires you to work with a multi-agency team of family support officers, community, voluntary and statutory services.

As the role is focusing on Children and young people's health there will be a need to work closely with health colleagues to help deliver and implement structured change.

You will be supporting families to promote home safety.

This will include supporting families in understanding the importance of social and emotional health with the aim of reducing social isolation and building resilience.


Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer.

About you


You will be a focused individual with good knowledge, insight and experience of working with vulnerable children and families safely; actively listening to the voice of children and young people and embracing a dynamic operating environment.

Good knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable children and families safely.

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

Responsible team player able to manage confidential information and reporting


It is desirable that you hold relevant qualifications, are a good verbal and written communicator, can stay calm under pressure, and be an empathetic team player.


You will need to effectively prioritise work demands, manage confidential information and reporting with good professional boundaries whilst supporting families and other professionals to effectively solve problems.
