Our client provides professional consultancy for the design and management of Building Services Engineering services for Buildings throughout the UK.

They were formed in the late 1970s are a professional practice of Mechanical and Electrical and Public Health (MEP) building services engineers with offices in six locations across the country, including London.

Their philosophy is to provide the best possible level of professional service on every project with an approach that meets the demands of clients by engineering building solutions that minimise complexity.

Their projects are of all scales and sizes, including new buildings, refurbishment, term contracts and minor works as well as facilities management, energy audits and planned maintenance.

Energy modelling of buildings using IES VE for both design and compliance purposes is a major part of their delivery.


The Role:

This IES modeller role has been created due to increased workloads.

Based in their Cambridge office, you will be responsible for the creation and management of IES SBEM models where you will oversee all Thermal modelling work with in the office.

This will be a varied role which will include carrying out Thermal Comfort analysis, Daylight study; Energy strategy/LZC study and provide support to the Client and M&E teams.

Using IES software you will be calculating equipment, specification and heating/cooling loads.
You will be involved from early design stages providing SBEM calculations results and offering recommendations. You goal is ultimately advising their clients on ways to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.


Qualifications & Experience:

You should be able to demonstrate a competent level of ability within the IES VE environment. Your knowledge should cover both Naturally Ventilated and mechanically conditioned buildings.
This role also the offers the option to move into Engineering design if desired.

This role will offer the opportunity, over time, to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, with support towards obtaining Chartered Engineer status.
