Milestone Infrastructure look after 24,000 miles of roads, 280,000 lighting assets and 20,000 miles of footways, always with a view to ensuring that all works are carried out as sustainably as possible and with mínimal impact to local communities.


We are currently looking to recruit an Efficiency and Performance Assistant to work within the Project Sector covering civil engineering projects across the country.


As the Efficiency and Performance Assistant you will be part of our Performance and Efficiency team who are responsible for supporting the project teams in the identification and development of improvement projects that improve the delivery performance of the sector.


As the Efficiency and Performance Assistant
your duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Assist the Efficiency & Performance Manger in the deployment of the Milestone Infrastructure Structured Improvement Methodology and Improvement Culture
  • Understand the civils project sector business and assist the regional teams in identifying improvement projects.
  • Support the delivery of business/process improvement projects across the Milestone Infrastructure civils projects sector and wider Milestone business.
  • Provide assistance and training in Lean / Systems Thinking / Continuous Improvement methodologies and approaches.
  • Advocate the development of the Lean / Continuous Improvement capability within the Milestone Infrastructure civils projects improvement programme.
  • Monitor / report / coordinate the progress of business/process improvement projects, including the creation of case studies and knowledge transfer packs (KTPs)
  • Provide assistance and input to the lessons learnt of improvement projects carried out across the civils projects sector business.
  • Work alongside the digital and innovations team to develop a better understanding of digital interventions in relation to business/process improvement projects.
  • Work alongside the Quality Team to support the deployment of Right First Time across the civils project sector to drive improvements.
  • Support the delivery & implementation of the Milestone Infrastructure Management System (MIMS) through identifying cross regional best practice sharing.
  • Support the delivery of the National Highways tender commitments and quality promises.
  • Actively participate in the Milestone Infrastructure Quality Forum

Other Tasks

  • Deliver 'Lunch and Learns' on improvements.
  • Coordination and running of improvement workshops.
  • Deliver training (when trained if required) on LEAN approach and techniques

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Excellent communication and Organisational Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
